As a kid, Ryan Johnson loved taking photos with a phone. Today he looks back at them and laughs to himself. But for iPhone photos, they were pretty good. When a surfer friend handed him a digital single lens reflex camera and asked Johnson to shoot back in 2012, he knew that photography was what he wanted to do. He enrolled in photography courses at the Ocean County Vocational Technical School. There was no way Johnson could work a 9-5 and instead decided to follow his passion, completely immersed in shooting bands, local landscapes, surf contests, family portraits and community events. This is our youngest Associate’s tenth season with Ann Coen Photography. He’s earned himself a new level and is now shooting weddings, portraits, real estate, and culinary photography for our team. He continues to hone his craft every day – still for the love of it.
